Robert K. Barr, Former Program Director of Sedona Culinary Arts Program, Chef Robert has been in the Hospitality industry for over 30 years, mostly as a Certified Executive Chef, Certified Culinary Educator, and Certified Hospitality Educator. A third of those many years, Robert was the Director and instructor at 2 AAS Culinary Schools, The School of Culinary Arts, with the Colorado Institute of Art, Denver Colorado, and the School of Culinary Arts, at the International Institute of Art in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Chef Robert's honors and awards start with the prestigious American Culinary Federation, Presidential Medallion, No.#61, where only 100 were awarded in amongst 70,000 ACF Chef and Culinary Professionals. This award was for his work with the 1992 USA Culinary Olympic Team that had won the world cup in that year. Other awards consist of Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals won at the Sanctioned ACF Culinary Salon competitions. Also, Chef Robert was rated 'One of the Best Chefs in America'; by the Hotel and Motel Association. Also, the Past President of the Chef Association of Nebraska, a member of the various Restaurant Associations, a site inspector for the American Culinary Association Educational Institute, accreditation for Culinary Schools, and an NRAEI Test Proctor and Servsafe instructor.
Robert has completed his Bachelor of Science Degree, with Argosy University Phoenix, AZ. AAS Culinary Management/Research Degree with Metro Community College and has schooled in Pially, France at a school called Yetabo Cultural Centre, with a Culinary Arts Certificate and did his apprenticeship at the 4 star Hotel restaurant, in Lyon, France with famed Chef Pierre Troisgros, and his son Claude.
Robert K. Barr is a husband to his wife Debbie of 36 years, they have 5 children, 18 grandchildren, and he and his wife have been therapeutic foster parents to many other children. Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, now resides in Clarkdale, AZ. where Robert and his wife, has been Retailer of Sauces and Dressings, Restaurateurs, Caterers, Corporate Chef for Union Pacific Railroad, and Executive Chef for the San Antonio Spurs. Robert also has had the pleasure of serving many celebrities including BB King, Ray Charles, VP Dan Quale, Hulk Hogan, Brad Paisley, Brooks & Dunn, Rascal Flatts, Steve Miller Band, and Reba McEntire, and many others.
